Class Descriptions

Beginner’s Yoga: Get to know the basic yoga postures and breathing techniques with guidance. Ease yourself into the practice of yoga in a supportive and educational manner. This class is designed for beginners but all-levels are welcome. Learn to fine-tune your alignment and breath and get back into the basics. This class is done at a slower pace made for learning. 60 minute class.

Basics Flow: This hour will be spent exploring foundation with focus given to alignment and mechanics, while incorporating a thoughtful pace, breath and awareness to the practice.  Created to ignite your inner yogi that may lead you in a practice personalized for your specific needs. This class is for both a beginner yogi wishing to gain confidence on their mat and in a studio and any yogi wishing to revisit foundational concepts. Props, breath work and meditation will be encouraged to assist on the journey.

Restorative Yoga: Is designed to allow for full body relaxation and release. Students are in the poses for longer periods of time. The use of props – blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters will help support students in this 60 minute class. This class is low to the floor with a few warm up flows to get the body moving before moving into the restorative poses. This class balances the body, mind and spirit in a slower more gentle way and allows for relaxation and release in the body while in the poses.

Yin yoga: Is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.

Yin/Yang Yang: Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice - bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. It also helps us to regulate the body's flow of energy. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.

Vinyasa Yoga Flow: This class is dedicated to Vinyasa Yoga. Vinyasa, also called flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together, is one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga. In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronized to a breath. A highly recommended class! This is a 60 minute class.

Vinyasa Power Yoga: This class is a Vinyasa Power Yoga which is a fluid, powerful, style of yoga that links movement and breath together, and is based on intuition rather than tradition. Vinyasa Power Yoga heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance, and intention. This is a 75 minute class.

Power Yoga: Power yoga is a general term used to describe a vigorous, flowing style of yoga with an emphasis on strength and flexibility. These classes may include challenging inversions and arm balances. Class is 60 minutes.

Gym Yoga: A class taught by Dominique Moceanu! This class combines the worlds of gymnastics with the flow of power yoga focusing on strength and flexibility. In this class we will do different types of moves including but not limited to inversions, handstand variations, splits, and work on everything in between, but there are modifications for everything so have no fear! Yoga experience is recommended, but not needed. Remember, never fear what you don’t know! Take a class if you wish and try it out to determine for yourself if you like it!  Believe in yourself and join the fun with Dominique! This is a 60 minute class.

Hatha Yoga: Hatha yoga is a much more general term that can really mean any type of physical yoga, although it is often used to indicate a class that is not flow-oriented. A gentle class could include some vinyasa flow, but the point is not to raise your heart rate or try to get your leg behind your head. All levels welcome! This is a 60 minute class.

BUTI Yoga: Buti, in Indian Marathi, means "the cure to something hidden or kept secret." This practice is a high-intensity fusion of yoga, tribal dance, and plyometrics. Classes combine cardio, strength training and flexibility in one seamless format. Buti creates a strong, empowered group that resembles a tribe. Buti Yoga is a tribe of empowered women who support each other in their quest for health and happiness. The movement methodology is drawn from primal movement, tribal dance and ancient yoga techniques to awaken the Shakti energy and free the mind. This class is a 60 minutes.
