200 RYT Yoga Instructor
Bio: I began my yoga journey over 13 years ago and have been in love ever since! Ashtanga Yoga was my first experience on the mat but now my practice is influenced by many other styles. Yoga has become part of who I am. It means so much more to me than a series of poses or a physical practice. When I first started practicing I used to describe Yoga as a mental discipline, but today I describe yoga as a feeling. It is a lifestyle and an ancient practice that I have come to love and trust. I believe yoga is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Outside of yoga I am passionate about music, exploring nature, traveling and connecting with beautiful people. I also love to laugh and the small things in life excite me!
My favorite yoga quote from the Bhagavad Gita that continues to inspire me: "On this path no effort is wasted, no gain is ever reversed; even a little of this practice will shelter you from great sorrow.”
Motto: Be Yourself.
Why I love teaching yoga: For me teaching is a dream come true. My intention is to share the feeling yoga gives me with my students. I don’t believe you can be good or bad at yoga. You are exactly where you are supposed to be in YOUR practice at this moment. Where ever you are there you are.
I always say the hardest part about yoga is showing up! My classes are inspired by Ashtanga, Anusara, and Jivamukti Yoga. In my classes and I speak from my heart and am myself. I like to remind my students to lead with their heart and not their head (ego). Also, to come from a place of love and trust the breath to support you through the practice.
Fun Fact: Elton John was the first concert I'd ever been to, and I've been in love with music ever since!
