Zumba Fitness Trained, Camp Dance Teacher, 200 RYT Yoga Instructor

Bio: Kate Ely found her love for dance from her first dance class as a child. During her dance studies, Kate was introduced to yoga as a way to increase her own flexibility. Kate continued to practice yoga while receiving her B.A. in Dance from Western Michigan University. After graduation, Kate decided to move to New York City to continue studying her craft.  In 2008, Kate received her 200hour Yoga Alliance Recognized certification from the first completely donation-based studio, Yoga To The People.  Continuing her studies, Kate practiced yoga with the Integral Yoga Institute, Jivamukti Yoga, and Bikram Yoga. As well as taking dance classes throughout the city and performing for the Alexandra Taylor Dance Company. Kate has now moved back to the Midwest to focus on teaching and studying the practice of Yoga and continuing to teach and perform various styles of dance.

Why I love teaching yoga: Yoga has helped me find more balance in my life and has made me more open to accepting myself and others. If I can provide a safe space for someone else to begin to find something new in their own life, then it has all been worth it.

Fun Fact: When seeing Hamilton in Chicago I was able to go onstage and meet the cast!!
